Dans les machines existantes, et selon un principe connu, la position de la meule face au rail est déterminée par deux galets de référence disposés sur le bâti principal de la S machine de part et d'autre de la meule et venant au contact du rail. Dans ces machines la distance à la meule des galets de référence n'est pas réglable.
