Abstract
Description
The invention relates to transport trays and presentation of a plurality of objects comprising a bottom wall and side walls integral with each other, being substantially perpendicular to the bottom wall, this plate being formed by folding a parallel corrugated cardboard plate, comprising a central face with longitudinal grooves, forming the bottom wall of the tray, and flaps hinged about one side of the central face forming the side walls of the tray.
Such cardboard trays are particularly used in the field of mass distribution, these trays ensuring the transport and presentation of objects such as fruit, pastries or butcher products, the board constituting them having superior properties ensuring such trays have sufficient rigidity.
The problem posed by this type of trays resides in their complex structure relating to the aforementioned properties but generating high manufacturing, recycling or destruction costs.
The object of the invention is to overcome this disadvantage.
To this end, the subject of the invention is a tray for transporting and presenting a plurality of objects comprising a bottom wall and side walls integral with each other, being substantially perpendicular to the bottom wall; tray being formed by folding a cardboard plate with parallel splines, comprising a central face with longitudinal grooves, forming the bottom wall of the tray, and flaps articulated around one side of the central face forming the side walls of the tray, characterized in that the board constituting the plate is: at least single-fluted, in that the most exposed buckling walls comprise horizontal flutes and double-thick areas of cardboard resulting from the folding of a portion of walls on another wall portion, these two parts being fixed to one another.
According to this first feature, the tray is designed to withstand buckling tending in particular to separate from each other the opposite walls of the tray, thanks to the double thickness of cardboard in locations.
The longest walls of the plate are part of these areas subject to buckling, especially when the tray is located within a stack and supports the total weight of the trays overlying it, as well as that of their contents.
According to another characteristic, the carton is single-fluted and two opposite flaps are folded on themselves towards the inside of the tray and fixed in this way to form two opposite walls with horizontal flutes, the width of each flap being substantially equal to double the height of the wall that it forms, to endow the walls with the double thickness of cardboard over their whole extent.
According to yet another feature, the bottom wall comprises two fins formed in the central face, each delimited by a cutting curve and a fold parallel to the flutes and close to a horizontal fluted side wall, the ends of this fold coinciding with those of the cutting curve, each fin being folded towards the wall along its fold and fixed at least partly thereto, forming the double thickness of cardboard.
Another possibility is that the horizontal and / or vertical spline walls each comprise two fins formed within these walls, each delimited by a cutting curve and a fold parallel to the flutes of the wall, the ends of this fold coinciding with those of the cutting curve, each fin being folded towards the inside of the tray according to its fold and pressed against the wall being fixed thereto, forming the double thickness of cardboard.
These fins are advantageously rectangular, the upper edge of the fin coinciding with the upper edge of the wall against which the fin is plated, the double thickness of cardboard that they can be easily detached from the plate to increase the space of access to products by means of dotted lines.
According to another feature, each fin carries at least one stacking lug formed by the cutting of the fin, extending in the extension of the fin and towards the top of the tray, the tray comprises receiving holes tenons , each being located at the foot of a post, the tenons of one of the trays inserted into the orifices of the other within a stack of trays, improving the verticality of the stack.
According to yet another characteristic, the other flaps form fastening walls, these flaps each comprise at their ends two fastening lugs, these tabs being each folded towards the inside of the packaging in a fold of securing, and pressed against the adjacent wall by being fixed to this wall.
These tabs each advantageously form by folding a stiffening post comprising at least one vertical portion attached to the adjacent wall and a second vertical portion, folded in a first fold and attached to the wall from which the post is derived.
According to another characteristic of the invention, the walls with fixing lugs each comprise a fold parallel to the articulation side of the flap and a band extending on one side of this fold, the fold being located at the upper edge adjacent walls, the strip being folded along its fold inwardly of the tray being supported by these adjacent walls, forming a sidewalk serving as a seat within a stack of trays.
The fold of the sidewalk advantageously comprises a cutout forming at least one peg extending in the extension of the fixing wall projecting towards the top of the tray once the trottcir folded, the bottom wall comprises a docking hole of the peg being located at the foot of the tenon, and when two trays are stacked, the tenons of one insert into the holes of the other to ensure the verticality of the stack.
According to another characteristic of the invention, the walls each comprise zones bonded to the fixing lug, the outline of these zones being pre-cut in dotted lines to facilitate flattening of the plate, the zone remaining stuck to the lug after this setting. flat, while the rest of the wall is detached by cutting the outline.
The board constituting the plate advantageously comprises at least one side made of plain or printed paper.
The invention will now be described in more detail and with reference to the appended figures which illustrate an embodiment thereof by way of non-limiting example, among which: FIG. 1 is an overall perspective view of the plate according to a first embodiment, - Figure 2 is a broken view of the plate according to the first embodiment, - Figure 3 is an overall perspective view of the plate according to a second embodiment, - Figure 4 is a overall perspective view of the tray according to a third embodiment, - Figure 5 is a top view of the plate forming the tray according to the first embodiment, Figure 6 is a top view of the plate forming the tray according to the second embodiment, Figure 7 is a top view of the plate forming the tray according to the third embodiment, Figure 8 is an overall perspective view of the tray according to a variant of the second In the embodiment, FIG. 9 is an overall perspective view of a stack of trays according to the invention, FIG. 10 is an illustration of the production of trays according to the invention.
The tray 1 according to the invention shown in Figures 1, 3 and 4 according to the three embodiments mentioned above, has a generally parallelepipedal shape and comprises a rectangular bottom 2 and qt.atre side walls 3,4.
This tray 1 is intended for the transport and presentation of a plurality of objects intended for sale especially in supermarkets, such as pastries, fruit, or butchers products.
It is formed by the folding of a rectangular plate 6 made of cardboard with 7 parallel grooves. In each of the embodiments shown in the figures, these grooves are oriented parallel to the longest side of the plate 6.
The plate 6 constituting the plate 1 comprises a rectangular central face 8 within which the grooves 7 are parallel to the length 12 of this face 8 and will be named in the following grooves 7 longitudinal.
It further comprises four rectangular shutters 9, 10, two of these shutters, called shutters lcngs 9 are parallel to the grooves 7 of the central face 8 and each extend on one side of the length 12 of this central face 8, both other flaps form the short flaps 10 which extend on one side of the width 13 of the face 8.
Thus, once these flaps 9, 10 folded perpendicularly to the central face 8 of the plate, the walls 3, 4 formed respectively comprise horizontal grooves 7 and vertical grooves 7, as can be seen in FIG.
In order to secure these walls 3, 4 to one another, two of the four flaps 9, 10, more precisely the short flaps 10 comprise fastening tabs 14 and securing folds 16 located in the extension of the lengths 12 of the central face. 8.
These tabs 14 are folded along their respective folds 16 towards the inside of the plate 1, and are at least partially plated against the adjacent long wall 3 and fixed in this way.
We will see later an advantageous folding of these tabs 12 contributing in particular to rigid: .fication plateau 1.
According to the invention, the plate 1 comprises parts with double thickness of plate 6, stiffening the plate 1 in its most vulnerable locations buckling such as the longest walls 3, 7 horizontal grooves.
According to the first embodiment of the tray 1, shown in Figure 1 and from the folding of Figure 5, the long walls 3 comprise a double thickness of cardboard over their entire extent.
For this embodiment, the plate 6 is made of cardboard with single grooves 7 of the type E, F, B, C, thus comprising two sheets of paper between which is inserted a third corrugated sheet.
The constituent papers of this box are validly qualified as light in that they have low grammages, for example able to reach minimum values approaching 50 gm-2.
This double thickness results from the fold of the long flap 9 on itself towards the inside of the plate 1 and the gluing of this shutter 9 in the state, this gluing being effected advantageously over the whole extent of the surface of contact.
The height of the wall 3 resulting from the folding of the flap 9 is thus substantially equal to half the width of the flap 9 and its section has, as shown in Figure 2, a U-shape.
To facilitate this folding, the plate 6 advantageously comprises two folds 17, 18 precut dashed, visible in Figure 5, parallel to the grooves 7 of the wall 3 and located at the center plane of the flap 9 parallel to the grooves 7.
The lower face 20 of the plate 6 is advantageously constituted by a plain and / or printable paper, allowing in particular the printing of slogans on this plate in a single operation, this plain paper or these slogans being finally visible as well as the outside that of the interior of the tray 1, particularly by means of the flaps 9 folded on themselves, or fixing lugs 14, by a suitable folding detailed later.
According to the second embodiment of Figure 3, resulting from the folding of the plate of Figure 6 consists of a single corrugated cardboard, of the aforementioned type, or double corrugated cardboard including type BE, BC, EF.
The wall 3 comprises at least one fin 19 delimited by a C-shaped cutting curve 21 and a fold 22 parallel to the grooves 7, whose two ends coincide with those of the cutting curve 21.
The fin 19 is folded along its fold 22 and pressed against an upper portion 23 of the wall 3 horizontal splines being glued in this way to form the double thickness of cardboard.
The fin 19 formed has a generally rectangular shape, is folded towards the top of the plate and its upper free edge coincides with the upper edge of the wall 3, constituting a true horizontal beam at this level, adapted to stiffen the plate 1.
The formation of the vane 19 generates that of a dormer 24, of conjugate shape, located substantially at the midpoint of the wall 3.
Another possibility, not shown, is a fin also cut in the long wall as described above, but being folded for this case to the bottom wall 2 of the plate 1, the double thickness formed being then located at mid-wall height or at the bottom of the wall.
According to the third embodiment, illustrated in Figure 4, the plate 1, formed by the folding of the plate 6 of Figure 7 is also provided with two fins 19 cut according to the cutting curve 21 and folded according to the horizontal fold 22 , but these fins are here cut into the bottom wall 2 of the plate 1, their folds parallel to the grooves 7 of the bottom 2, being located near the long wall 3 with 7 horizontal grooves.
The fin 19 is then folded along this fold 22 towards the wall 3 and comprises a strip 27 parallel to this wall 3 which is plated and fixed to the portion 23 of this wall 3 to form the double thickness of cardboard, stiffening the plate 1 substantially halfway up the wall 3.
As for the previous embodiment, these fins 19 draw dormers 24 which are this time located at the bottom 2 of the tray 1.
The fins 19 here have a substantially trapezoidal shape, their width being, of course, adapted not to weaken the bottom 2 of the plate 1.
The tray 1 according to the invention can have different characteristics which are described below and which can indifferently be integrated into one or other of the aforementioned embodiments.
The short walls 4 in which the flutes 7 are vertical may comprise openings 25 formed in the same way as the dormers 24 above, and delimited by a cut and a folded edge 26, located substantially halfway up the wall 4, as shown in FIG.
These openings 25 are advantageously used by a user wishing to lift the tray 1 loaded with the plurality of objects.
Their upper edge 26 has the advantage of being non-cutting, because this edge 26 results from the folding on itself of the plate and therefore has a smooth contour, pleasant to the user's touch, unlike an edge that would be derived simple cutting of the plate.
Furthermore, to increase the accessibility and visibility of the product, the double-thickness parts of the finned walls 3, 4 can be detached from the plate 1, especially when presenting the products in large areas.
For this purpose, the walls 3, 4 comprise two vertical fold lines 19a precut in bridged and located at the vertical ends of the double thickness portions.
A simple effort to separate these parts of their tray 1, leads to the cutting lines 19a, greatly increasing the access space to the products.
This separation can advantageously be carried out on stacked trays, thus allowing access to the products of any of these trays 1.
On the other hand, the fastening tabs 14 can advantageously be folded to form four stiffening posts each rising vertically at a corner of the plate 1, as can be seen in FIG. 2.
For this purpose, each tab 14 has a first fold 28 and a second fold 29, both parallel to the securing fold 16 of the tab 14.
These folds 28, 29 separate the tab 14 into three parts.
The first portion 31, between the folding fold 16 and the first fold 28 is pressed against the adjacent wall 3 and fixed to this wall 3.
The second part 32 between the two folds 28, 29 of the tab 14, is folded towards the wall 4 according to the first fold 29, the second fold being pressed against the wall 4. This second part 32 is interposed at the corner of the plate er forming an angle close to 45 degrees with respect to the adjacent walls 3, 4.
Finally, the third portion 33, between the second fold 29 and the free end 34 of the tab 14 is pressed over its entire extent against the wall 4.
The post of stiffening. thus formed is triangular section rectangle and contributes to the vertical stiffening of the plate including within a stack.
In this same perspective, the plate 1 advantageously comprises horizontal sidewalks, shown in Figure 8, serving as a seat for the plates 1 overlooking.
In the example shown, the wall 4 comprises a horizontal fold 36 located in the extension of the upper edges of the tabs 14 and a band 37 extending on one side of this fold 36, the band 37 being folded according to the fold 36 to the interior of the tray so as to rest on the upper edges of the legs 14 to form the sidewalk 38 horizontal.
The band 14 advantageously comprises fixing tongues 39 articulated around the pivot lines 40 located at the upper edge of the tab 14, these tongues 39 being folded each along their line 40, towards the bottom of the plate, and pressed against the legs 14 being stuck in this way.
In addition, the plate 1 comprises bonding zones 42 ensuring the attachment of a short wall 4 to a long wall 3 being located at the level of the fastening lugs 14.
These zones 42 comprise a dotted outline 43 facilitating the flattening of the plate 1, especially at the end of use of this plate 1.
Indeed, when a user wishes to proceed with this flattening, it exerts a force tending to move the long wall 3 of the bracket 14.
This spacing provokes the cutting of the dashed outline 43, the glued zone 42 remaining integral with the lug 14 of the short wall 4.
Consequently, the flattening of the plate 1 returns to the simple cutting of the dashed outline 43 and no longer to the take-off of the glued zone 42.
Another advantageous aspect of the invention applicable to finned trays is the presence of lugs 44 protruding vertically from louver 19 beyond the upper edge of long wall 3, as can be seen in FIG.
These tenons 44 advantageously result from the cutting curve 21 of the fin 19 and do not generate loss of material as would be the case for tenons formed for example directly on a free edge of the plate 1, for which these losses are inevitable .
These studs 44 cooperate with holes 46 each formed on the bottom 2 of the plate 1 and perpendicular to the studs 44.
Thus, in a stack of plates.eaux 1, the orifices 46 of a plate 1 receive the tenons 44 of the underlying plate 1, ensuring the verticality of the stack formed.
The pins, 44 according to another embodiment applicable to the trays 1 curb 38, can be formed within the sidewalk 38, the fold 36 has for this purpose cuts forming these tenons 44. They extend vertically beyond the short wall 4 when the strip 37 is folded along the fold 36.
In order to limit the risks of interpenetration of the trays 1 within a stack, the short walls 4 are slightly inclined towards each other in the upper part.
In addition, each corner of plate 1 may comprise angles with cut sides, visible in Figure 4, and formed by the folding of the tab 14.
In this case, the tab 14 comprises the aforementioned folding fold 16 and an additional fold 45, parallel to the fold 16.
The tab 14 is folded along these two folds to form a substantially rounded corner, resulting from a succession of vertical panels.
The base of this rounded corner being horizontal and full, as shown in Figure 4, it is impossible for two stacked trays to interpenetrate.
On the other hand, the trays according to the invention may be of different formats each being the sub-multiple of the other, facilitating their stacking, shown in FIG. 9 with the example of a tray surmounted by two trays whose volume is half of that of the base plate.
This advantage coupled with the presence of the pins 44 ensures a good holding of the stack of these trays 1, while facilitating their setting in column.
The trays described above result from the mechanized folding of the plates 6, this mechanization being easily adaptable to existing ones.
Indeed, as can be seen in FIG. 10 for the case of the second embodiment, a simple step of folding the fins 19 according to their respective fold 22, for example by means of a pneumatic system, is integrated with the conventional steps of punching the plate by a mass 47, forming the side walls 3, 4 of the packaging.
The invention brings many advantages among which:
The use of a lightweight cardboard easily foldable, inexpensive and easily recyclable.
The fins of the trays allow stiffening of the tray at the locations most vulnerable to buckling and without any loss of material, these fins being taken directly within the constituent material of the wall which carries them.
These trays have sufficient rigidity to transport products of varying weight and moisture content.
The double thicknesses allow the plate to withstand buckling alone, unlike platters resistant to these constraints through the objects they contain.
The formation of skylights allows an advantageous ventilation of the products while increasing their visibility and their accessibility.
The pleasant aesthetic aspect and especially the presence of plain or printed paper, inside and outside these trays allows their direct presentation in store and thus a considerable saving of time and cost, the addition of unsightly paper concealing element then being useless.
