Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the improvement of a load displacement device which is called shuttle floor or mobile floor.
The shuttle floor consists of aluminum boards, which are generally about ten centimeters wide, and which are arranged side by side in the direction of the desired displacement of the loads that said floor supports. The aluminum boards can slide longitudinally relative to each other; the amplitude of the movement can vary depending on the installation chosen from a few centimeters to a few decimeters on either side of an average position.
Fig.1 shows a perspective view of the device according to the invention at the start of the cycle when all of the boards are forward.
Fig.2, Fig.3 show a perspective view of the device according to the invention during the cycle when a first series of boards and a second series of boards has receded.
Fig.4 shows a perspective view of the device according to the invention when all the boards being moved back they can be all advanced simultaneously to return to the position of Fiv.1.
Fig.5 shows a perspective view of a variant of the invention for reversing the direction of movement of the loads on the shuttle floor.
The displacement of the load supported by the shuttle floor is obtained as follows: the floor consists, for example, of modules of three successive boards (31) Fig.1; if a sequence number of ian is assigned to the boards starting from an edge of the floor, the first module (31) will carry the boards number 1, 2 and 3, the second module (32) will bear the number of the boards 4, 5 and 6 and so on; generally the boards of the rank I module will contain the numbers (3 * (I-1) +1), (3 * (1-1) + Z), (3 * (I-1) +3) with I varying from 1 to "M = (Part
Integer of (n-1) / 3) +111. If n is a multiple of three, the last module consists of the plates bearing the numbers n-2, n-1 and n; if it is not a multiple of three the last module will only have one or two boards without this affecting the functioning of the assembly. We connect together by a bar (23) the boards of each module bearing the numbers 1, 4, ... (3 * (I-1) +1), ... which is called hereafter the group of boards 4; then we connect together by a bar (24) the boards number 2, 5,
(3 * <I-1) +2) ... which is called hereafter the group of plates B; finally we connect together by a bar (25) the boards number 3, 6, ... (3 * (I-1) +3) which we call hereafter the group of boards C. The functioning of the shuttle floor as well defined is done with the following dewlap; the board group A is moved by moving the bar (23) Fig.2 by a length (26) previously defined in the direction (7) opposite to that which is desired for the material to be moved; the board group B is then moved by moving the bar (24) Fig.3 the same length and in the same direction (7) as the group; then we do the same for group C move the bar (25) Fig.4 we move the same length in the same direction (7) as n and B; finally, all the boards are moved simultaneously, from the shuttle floor, by simultaneously moving the three bars (23) (24) and (25) Fig. 1, in the direction (8) of the movement of the load which is opposite to the direction (7) of the displacement described above, of a length equal to the preceding displacement, which has the effect of displacing the load to be transported in the desired direction (8); the groups of plates A, B, C are thus brought back to their initial location, which makes it possible to start a new cycle identical to the one just described; the succession of these cycles makes it possible to move the loads supported by the floor. The shuttle floors available on the market are controlled by hydraulic jacks; there may for example be a double-acting cylinder operating in differential by group of plates A, B and C; a hydraulic unit and a properly programmed distributor ensure the independent and then synchronized movements of the plank groups. Shuttle floors are frequently used for moving heavy loads of several tens of tonnes and the hydraulic control device is well suited. There appears to be an interesting field of application for light products and in particular small dimensions representing loads to be moved of a few hundred kilograms for which the use of hydraulics is no longer justified taking into account the low powers involved. It is not possible to replace the hydraulic operating device with a pneumatic control device which has insufficient reliability for this type of application. The object of the invention is to propose a mechanical operating device capable of replacing the hydraulic operating device currently used.
Fig.3 est en opposition au plancher par rapport à l'arbre à cames (9).The mechanical device which is the subject of the invention has the function of operating the groups of plates A, B and C according to the cycle previously described. A transverse bar (23) Fig.1, preferably located perpendicular to the direction of movement of the boards, is mechanically attached to each of the boards in group A; transverse bars (24) and (25) connect in the same way on the one hand the boards of the group Btet on the other hand7 those of group C. We will call in the description which follows the position "before" the extreme position of the floors in the direction (8) of movement of the load, and the "rear" position the extreme position of the boards in the opposite direction (7) Fig.2 of movement of the load. At the start of the cycle Fig. 1, as described above, the three pins A, B and C are in the front position and the cross bar (24) is placed in front of and resting against the cross bar (23) and the cross bar (25 ) is in front of and resting on the cross bar (24) .The cycle consists in first moving the group of boards n in the direction (7) Fig. 2 to bring it to the rear position by moving the cross bar back ( 23) which is detached from the bar (24); then the bar is moved back (24) Fig.3 which separates from the bar (Z5) and comes into the rear position pressing on the bar (23); finally, the bar (25) Fig.4 is moved back which comes into the rear position by pressing on the bar (24); the three bars (23), (24) and (25) being in rear position in support one on the other, it is enough to advance in the direction (8) the bar (23) Fig.l for the bring to the front position to drive at the same time the other two bars (24) and (25) in the front position and thus all the boards in the front position; all the bars (23), (24) and (25) are found in the initial position Fig. 1. To ensure the operation of the bars (23) (24) (25), place parallel to the floor and perpendicular to the direction of movement of the boards a camshaft (9) comprising at least one group of three identical cams (10) (11) and (12) each consisting of a rod fixed perpendicular to the camshaft (9) and completed preferably by a roller whose axis is parallel to the axis of the camshaft (9); the length of the rod is substantially greater than the length of the movement requested from the bars (23), (24) and (25); and the distance from the camshaft (9) to the shuttle floor is sufficient so that the cams (10) (11) (12) do not touch the floor when the camshaft (9) rotates. we will consider that the direction of rotation (13) of the camshaft (9) is such that, when the cams (10) (11) (12) pass between the floor and the camshaft (9), they move back and forth, relative to the direction (8) of displacement of the load on the shuttle floor. Each of these three cams (10) (11) (12) comes respectively to bear on a cam track ( 14) (15) (16) respectively secured to one of the bars (23), (24) and (25); we will call them hereafter cams (10), (11) and (12); the cam (11) is placed at 90 degrees by turning clockwise and the cam (12) is placed at 180 degrees, relative to the cam (10). n each cam (10), (11) and (12) corresponds to a cam path (14), (15) and (16) secured respectively to the bars (23), (24) and (25); these cam tracks (14), (15), (16) are, in a preferred version of the invention, simple flat irons oriented perpendicular to the plane of the shuttle floor, the rolling track of the cam being in a plane parallel to the axis of the camshaft (9). At the start of the cycle Fig. 1 as we have described it, the three cam paths (14), (15), (16), are in the same plane and placed at the rear relative to the shaft at cams (9) and at a distance (17) such from the axis of the camshaft (9) that the difference between the radius of the cylindrical space swept by the end of the cam and the latter (17) corresponds to the length (26) Fig.2 of displacement of the boards; the middle of the cam tracks is in a plane parallel to the floor passing through the axis of the camshaft (9); the cam path (9) extends on either side of its midpoint over a distance sufficient to cut the surface swept by the end of the corresponding cam. At the start of the cycle Fig.1 the cam (10) is placed perpendicular to the floor and between the floor and the camshaft (9); the cam (10) turns anti-clockwise going backwards and meets the cam track (14) which starts to move backwards Fig.2 driving the bar (23) and the corresponding boards A ; when the cam (10) reaches the middle of the cam path (14), the camshaft (9) has rotated 90 degrees, the bar (23) is in the rear position, and the cam (11) is in the position of the cam (10) at the start of the cycle; the camshaft (9) continues to rotate and the cam (11) comes into contact with the cam track (15); when the camshaft (9) Fig.3 has rotated an additional 90 degrees, the bar (24) is in the rear position bearing on the bar (23); the cam (12) is in the position that the cam <11 previously had; the camshaft (9)
Fig. 4 turns and the cam (12) moves the bar (24) to its rear position pressing on the bar (24). At this moment the cam (11) is in a position perpendicular to the shuttle floor and in the opposite direction with respect to the camshaft (9) which has rotated 3 times 90 degrees since the start of the cycle; this cam (11) is made to correspond to a cam path (18), which is integral with the bar (23), which is placed in front of the camshaft (9) and at a distance (17) from l axis and with positioning relative to the floor, the camshaft (9), and the cam (11), identical to that described for the cams (10), (11) and (12) for the tracks cams (14), (15) and (16). The camshaft (9) continues to rotate the cam (11) moves from rear to front, comes into contact with the cam path ( 18), driving the bar (23) forward as well as the bars (24) and (25); when the camshaft (9) has rotated an additional 90 degrees, the set of bars (23), (24) and (25) has returned to the position before Fig. 1, the cam (10) is in the position that 'she had at the start of the cycle and a new cycle can start again. The same result is obtained by rotating the shaft in the opposite direction and by changing the position of the cam (11) so as to give it a direction diametrically opposite to its previous position and by commenting on the cycle while the cam (10)
Fig.3 is in opposition to the floor relative to the camshaft (9).
Depending on the number of modules in the floor and the powers to be transmitted, it may be necessary to install several cams (10), (11), (12) with the corresponding cam tracks in order to distribute the force along bars (23), (24) and (25). We can choose for example to have a set of cams like the one we have just described, both modules; these sets of cams acting simultaneously at various points of a same group of bars (23), (24), and (25) acting on all of the modules of the shuttle floor; in this case in the phase of removal of the bars, there is no flow at the end of the floor; when the bars are advancing, the flow is maximum. A more regular flow can be obtained by dividing the floor into several groups of contiguous modules and assigning each group of bars (23), (24), (25 ) each controlled by a group of cams (10), (11), (1Z) using the same camshaft (9); under these conditions, it is possible to offset a group of cams with respect to the other so that, for example, without this example being limiting, one is in the backward phase of the boards and the other in the forward phase , by shifting them by 180 degrees; an almost continuous flow is thus obtained, the volume of which can be regulated by increasing the number of groups of independent modules and by adjusting the offset from each other. In a variant of the invention there is a set of cams (10), (11) and (12) per module and the bars (23), (24), (25) are deleted as described; the cycle remaining the same, the bar (23) is replaced by a cleat, integral with the board a, on which come to rest cleats suitably placed on the boards
B and C during the backward movement, and which allow boards B and C to be brought forward by maneuvering the board A.
The bars (23), (24) and (25) can be fixed according to
the conditions of use on or under the floor, or -in its extension with in this case a mechanical connection between the boards and the bar which is rigid if the bars move parallel to the boards, and by articulated links at their ends if the direction of movement is not the same; in the case where it is sought to produce a compact operating device, the cam tracks come close to the camshaft, and one can in between have to modify the length of the cam tracks to allow for example the cam ( 12) to escape at the end of the movement of the bar (25) of the cam path (16) so that the cam (11) can instantly attack the cam path (18) without causing mechanical blockage; under these conditions there is only one possible direction of rotation for the camshaft; all these versions remain within the scope of the invention.
It is possible to provide for the possibility of reversing the direction of displacement of the loads on the floor; one way of carrying out the operation is as follows: first, the distance between the cam (10) Fig. 5 and the cam (11) must be the same as the distance between the cam (11) and the cam ( 12), the respective cam paths (14), (15) and (16) being in correspondence with the cams; then there must be the possibility of moving the camshaft (9) by translation (19), parallel to its axis, by a sufficient distance so that the cams (10) (11) (12) can escape the corresponding cams and to be found: for the cam (10) between the cam path (15) and the cam path (18); for the cam (11) between the cam path (16) and a cam path (20), parallel to the cam path (18), attached to the bar (24) and at the same distance, and on the same side, the axis of the camshaft (9) as the cam track (18), when the boards are all in the rear position or all in the front position; finally the cam (11) is found opposite a cam path (21), attached to the bar (25), parallel to the cam paths (18) and (20) and located at the same distance and from the same side of the camshaft axis (9) than the latter. To change the direction of movement of the loads on the shuttle floor, it suffices to stop, for example, the operation of the shuttle floor at the end of a cycle such that we have previously described and shown in Fig.1; then the camshaft is slid by a distance equal to that which separates the cam (10) from the cam (11) which is then found between the cam tracks (16) and (20); finally it suffices to rotate the camshaft (9) in the direction of rotation (22) opposite to the direction of rotation (13) Fig.1 above so that the direction of translation of the shuttle floor is reversed.
In the case where the length of the cam tracks have been modified by the fact that the operating device is compact as we have previously described, there is only one possible direction of rotation of operation; in this case, the existing set of cam paths cannot be partially reused and a set of cam paths must be used which is completely independent of the first; this particular case remains within the scope of the invention.
