Abstract

The battery recovery and distribution unit has three modules. The first module is a salvage unit (1) which has openings (4) to allow the user to insert used batteries. The second module has a coin or payment receiver with a keypad and screen to allow the user to enter details of batteries inserted in the salvage unit and to pay for the new batteries. The third module contains a stock of new batteries and delivers the type of battery ordered. The distribution module can be programmed to deliver new batteries only after used batteries have been inserted. The salvage unit stops insertion of batteries if there is any malfunction. The incoming batteries are sorted by a recognition unit or from data entered by the user.
