Abstract

The housing (1) is for a shutter (5) which covers a door or window and rolls onto a lengthwise horizontal shaft (6) when raised. A panel (3) extends horizontally along the bottom and fixed to the upper horizontal member of the door or window frame. The panel extends only part of the way across the housing, leaving a gap (4) for the shutter to pass through; it is thicker at the edges than in the centre and it has a concave upper surface. The gap can contain a guide (7) which diverges upwards, or the edge (3b) of the bottom panel can be curved so that the gap is broader at the top than the bottom. The bottom plate can be attached to the door/window frame upper member through an intermediate panel and tongues and grooved surfaces which engage elastically.
