Abstract

The device which is the subject of the invention applies to a military grenade whose explosive charge (1) is screwed (or clipped) onto a rod (2) containing the delay fuse. A piston-shaped boss (3) compresses a spring (4) contained in a hollow handle (5). A trigger (6) prevents ejection of the grenade until it is actuated. A cord (7) causes initiation of the fuse when it is pulled either manually or by the pressure of the spring (4) ejecting the explosive charge. A sighting device, composed of a water (spirit) level (9) (or a simple pendulum) indicates the angle of sight on a graduated reference, and therefore the estimated distance of the explosion. The line of sight determined by two notches gives the direction of the jet. The user is therefore protected from any muscular or psychological failure for defending himself.

Description

The present invention relates to military weapons of the greflades1r type intended for use by infantrymen
In the devices known to date, two types of grenades are recognized: hand grenades, rifle grenades
Hand grenades have the advantage of being small in volume and of a silent spray
They have the disadvantage of having a limited range, a hazardous accuracy, totally due to the instinct of the launcher and require that it lays uncovered to exert the muscular force allowing it to launch its grenade
At this moment, the combatant becomes particularly vulnerable or even dangerous for himself if his jet is less than the security perimeter imposed by the explosive used
Rifle grenades are of great range and good precision, but they have the disadvantage of being provided with heavy, bulky and specialized equipment: rifle, sleeve, propellant charge and finally, large grenade.
In addition, the deflagration of the propellant charge is such that the launcher is immediately spotted
In all cases, the grenades used to date have the disadvantage for the user of being unmasked even before it explodes
The device which is the subject of the invention avoids these drawbacks by requiring no other material for the use of the grenade, than the device itself.
In addition, its eJection is silent, independent of the muscular strength of the user and does not require any particular training to obtain sufficient precision for its effectiveness.
Finally, its explosive charge is versatile, allowing it to be adapted to different types of missions
The ejection and target part being common, the manufacturing is simplified.
According to a preferred embodiment, this technical grenade presents itself as a "handle grenade", the external characteristics which may or may not be substantially identical
We therefore find: a "head" containing the selective explosive charge adapted to the mission
This head is fixed on a hollow rod containing the igniter whose delayed action will be the equivalent of the time necessary for the trajectory
The outer part of the igniter serves as a guide when ejecting the grenade
A corolla integrated into the igniter rod compresses a powerful spring held in a sleeve having an assembly locking device
A safety pin can be integrated into it
A sleeve / igniter link allows automatic priming of the grenade when it is ejected by releasing the blocking device.

Access to the lower part of the sleeve allows the igniter to be put into service without ejecting the grenade
This allows in case of necessity to use the explosive charge without ejecting it.

Note that during use in exercise, the sleeve part is recoverable and therefore rechargeable indefinitely
The sleeve can also receive a sighting device composed of a spirit level (or a pendulum), making it possible to determine the sighting angle according to the horizontal
The articulated part of this level will be finished in the shape of an arrow, in order to identify on a calibrated stage the distance traveled by the grenade according to the angle of ejection
This clinometer, equipped with two sighting notches, will also provide orientation
Therefore, the imponderables due to the human factor: physical strength, instinctive and emotional reactions, no longer influence the throwing of the grenade
The safety of the launcher is increased as well as its efficiency
FIGURE 1 shows the embodiment of the grenade, according to the invention
FIGURE 2 represents the aiming mode.

FIGURE 4 represents the principle of ballistic efficiency of the optimized explosive charge
The section of Figure 1 shows an explosive charge (1) screwed (or clipped) on a rod (2) containing the delay igniter.

A piston-shaped boss (3) compresses a spring (4) contained in a hollow handle (5)
The grenade is held in the handle despite the spring pressure by a trigger (6) which can be pinned for safety
A cord (7) causes the igniter to be put into service when it is pulled when the spring is released
One of its ends being blocked in a plug (8) manually removable when it is desired to shorten the waiting time between ejection and explosion (Tenuous short-range shooting cannot relaunch the grenade.)
An aiming device, composed of a spirit level (9) (or a simple weight functioning like a pendulum) indicates the aiming angle on a graduated mark (10), therefore the estimated distance of the explosion
The "line of sight" is determined by two notches (11)
