Abstract

The invention, with a rapid and inexpensive system of use (in comparison with currently existing systems making it necessary to land the boat) has the object of passing as many boats as possible through the "floating station" in one same port, whilst remaining afloat. The device implemented for these various works is as follows: a U-shaped floating hulk with great buoyancy constitutes the operational area. A lifting system with two submerged "cradles" makes it possible to clear the plane of flotation by 15 to 50 cm in order to proceed with cleaning the boatwork (upperworks). On each inner face of the longitudinal hulks there is fixed a rail on which there slides an articulated movable arm moved automatically, hydraulically, mechanically or electrically equipped with brushes, polishing felts or pressure jets. After having relowered the cradle system which remains under the boat, one proceeds with cleaning the underwater hull using the articulated movable arm. The polishing brushes are replaced by pressure jets.

Description

The object of the present invention is to carry out these various cleaning, buffing and fairing operations (or only one of these operations) more quickly, at a lower cost and both afloat and dry.

To date, the traditional method for carrying out the cleaning work for the fairing of the boats requires that they be earthed by various means: lift, crane, dry dock, etc. - maneuver involving some risks and costly.

FIG. 1
FIG. 2
FIG. 2 (3a, 4b, 5c)
FIG. 3 (la, 2b)
The device used for this work is the following, a U-shaped floating device with high buoyancy, consisting of 3 pontoons made of aluminum or polyester, or other material. This set constitutes the parking area into which the boat wishing to carry out the various operations chosen by the owner user will enter. FIG. 1
In order to carry out the cleaning-buffing work (dead works) for the boats, it is necessary to slightly mount the boat (about 15 to 50 cm) in order to first clean the waterline. indeed the dirtiest; (permanent contact with port soiling and oil floating on the surface.) FIG. 2
To raise the ship, one of the solutions chosen consists of 2 submerged "cradles" which are lifted upwards by vertical, hydraulic, mechanical or electric traction. This traction remains low because we only have to note a small part of the total weight of the ship. FIG. 2 (3a, 4b, 5c)
On each interior face of the 2 longitudinal pontoons is fixed a guide rail and carrying an articulated and mobile arm. FIG. 3 (la, 2b)
At the end of this arm, a series of brushes or felts to be polished are fixed.

FIG. 6-7
These brushes are actuated by air, hydraulically or mechanically (or otherwise). FIG. 6-7
The arm moves by longitudinal strip from one end to the other of the freeboard, automatically stopping at the hull ends by limit switches. The arm operates in successive bands, starting from the liston to the waterline (above the antifouling).

FIG. 6-7
Instead of the polishing felts, you can adapt cleaning brushes or adapt a jet with variable pressure. FIG. 6-7
This arm is also used for the fairing, the submerged part of the hull. The system to be buffed is replaced by rapid disassembly by a small "jet ramp" at high water pressure using sea water or fresh water, in order to clean the live works.

FIG. 3-2
The arm will work identically in bands, automatically, to the front and rear ends of the keel, or dond the boat when it is a motor boat. FIG. 3-2
The industrialization of the invention will allow end users to save considerable time (compared to systems currently in existence). It should be combined with increased efficiency and low cost.

For these reasons, the sgsteme will be industrially duplicated and installed in all national and international ports and marinas that will welcome it.

The invention also makes it possible to perform other manual services by the manipulator of the apparatus: cleaning of the bridges by pressure jets, cleaning of the holds of boats, pressure with hot water.

The invention works perfectly by any other lifting system and in particular a complete lifting of the boat out of the water.

In this way, we could do quick work on the hulls or apply antifouling paints.

The invention can also function perfectly by a conventional lifting gantry placed on the pontoon.

The principle of cleaning, buffing and fairing by articulated arms is also adaptable to a dry land boat, by mounting the arm on a cart controlled manually or not.
