Description

The hulls of water vehicles, especially of smaller boats, pleasure boats and Yachts are usually made of metal, wood or a plastic. It is also known To manufacture boat hull from concrete. The part of the hull that is immersed in the water exposed to various stresses and influences, which in particular consist in the fact that Deposits, foreign bodies, hard-shelled sea creatures such as barnacles, aquatic plants and other contaminants on the outer surfaces of the hull and below Fix parts of the boat located on the waterline, such as the drive parts. These deposits on the outer skin of the boat lead on the one hand to the boat body mechanically and chemically - physically attacked and partly in its surface structure gets destroyed. On the other hand, the foreign bodies and contaminants on the below the Waterline surface of the hull as well as the drive parts so that at Driving in the water creates unwanted turbulence, the movement resistance of the Watercraft increased and the drive units impaired in their functionality become. This in turn reduces the driving speed or requires an increased one Drive power. Furthermore, with more extensive deposits on the hull, the Maneuverability of the watercraft negatively affected.

In order to counteract the disadvantages described, it is common practice for sports boats and yachts to subject them to thorough cleaning of the outer surfaces of the hull, in particular the parts located below the waterline during operation, and the outer surfaces of the hull during the winter lying time on land to be given a protective protective coating. The exterior painting requires a thoroughly cleaned surface.
For smaller boats, it is common practice to manually clean the outer surfaces with simple hand tools such as spatulas, brushes and fine-pored abrasives.

It is also known to use mechanical cleaning systems for cleaning the hull, equipped with cleaning elements driven by an electric motor, such as rotary brushes are. It is also known to use mechanized systems for cleaning boats, who use a water jet under high pressure as a working element. The known means and methods for removing deposits and foreign bodies from Boat hulls and for cleaning the surfaces have the disadvantage that despite high Working energy does not always lead to a satisfactory result.

The cleaning and removal of superficial deposits and impurities will especially complicated by the fact that the foreign substances and bodies are extremely strong stick to the surface of the hull.

The task for the device to be newly developed was therefore that described To avoid disadvantages of the known manual and mechanized cleaning processes and To create means and methods for producing thoroughly cleaned surfaces. At the same time the need for manual rework is largely avoided.

This object is achieved in that a device for cleaning the outer surfaces of boats and yachts, which consists of hydraulically operated supports for locking the hull in a washing zone and cleaning units, which are formed by water spray nozzles, rotating and oscillating, roller-shaped brushes and other cleaning devices According to the invention, the washing zone is located in the interior of a floating and lowerable, openable and closable floating dock, the supports for locking the hull are arranged on both sides and below the washing zone on the side walls and on the bottom of the floating dock, and the cleaning units surrounding the washing zone are pivotable Mounts are provided on a boom that can be moved within the floating dock and plates are arranged as further cleaning devices in the lower region of the washing zone for emitting ultrasound waves.
According to a further feature of the invention, the interior of the floating dock which forms the washing zone can be filled with water and can be emptied via a suction nozzle with a filter. The boom, which carries the holders with the cleaning units, can be pivoted about a hinge extending laterally of the washing zone in the longitudinal direction of the hull.

The device for cleaning the outer surfaces of boats and yachts consists of a floating dock 2, which can be lowered in the water by known technical means, raised again and locked in any height position and the interior of which is designed as a washing zone 1. The floating dock 2 has longitudinally extending side walls 5 and foldable bulkheads 15 on both ends. Immediately above the bottom of the floating dock 2 there is an extension arm 6 which can be moved in the longitudinal direction on roller bearings 24 and can be pivoted about a joint 7 by means of a hydraulic cylinder 19. A plurality of mountings 9 which can be controlled by sensors and which carry rotating and oscillating, roller-shaped brushes 12 at their ends are pivotably attached to the boom 6. As a further cleaning unit, a spray bar 18 is attached to the side wall 5 so as to be longitudinally displaceable and pivotable and height-adjustable, and carries a plurality of water spray nozzles 11 arranged above and to the side of the washing zone 1.
To lock a hull 4 in the washing zone 1, several supports 3 are provided on the bottom of the floating dock 2, which are supported by hydraulic cylinders 21. Furthermore, a plurality of supports 22 are arranged on the side walls 5 and can be extended and retracted by means of hydraulic cylinders 23. Also attached to the side wall 5 is a pivotable support 16, which projects beyond the washing zone 1 and carries at its end an extension carriage 17, over which the towline 20 is guided. As further cleaning devices, plates 8 fastened to brackets 25 for emitting ultrasound waves are arranged in the lower region of the washing zone 1. The interior of the floating dock 2 which forms the washing zone 1 can be filled with water and can be emptied with a filter via a suction nozzle 10 located on the bulkhead wall 15.
A control center 14 is located on the side of the floating dock 2 to accommodate the functional, operating, control and regulation technology.

Floating dock 2 is opened to carry out cleaning work on boats and yachts floating in the water on a designated berth and in the water so far submerged, as is required to float a hull 4. A bulkhead 15 is folded down. The hull 4 is self-propelled, for example by means of Bow jet propeller 13, or through the towing line 20 into the washing zone 1 and through the supports 3 and 22 held and locked there. The bulkhead 15 is folded up and that Floating dock closed at the end. Using sensors and other known ones Control elements are from the control center 14 from the water spray nozzles 11 on the Spray bar 18 and the brushes 12 on the brackets 9 in one for the respective hull 4 brought optimal position. If necessary, this is also done by the hydraulic cylinder 19 Swiveling the boom 6 around the joint 7. Move during the cleaning process the cleaning units in the longitudinal direction of the hull 4 and in the required Directions up and down. After the mechanical cleaning has been completed, use Ultrasonic waves, which are emitted from the plates 8, a thorough post-cleaning. At the Lower hulls are all removed from barnacles, mussels and seaweed growth. As Cleaning additives to the washing water are exclusively organic detergents. The resulting cleaning water, sea water as well as fresh water, is submerged in the Suction nozzle 10 suctioned off together with the dirt and through appropriate special filters cleaned before it is released into the environment. After completing the Cleaning operations, the floating dock 2 is filled with fresh sea water and the Boats and yachts move out of the device under their own power.
