Abstract

The present invention describes a device for harvesting corn, especially made up in the shape of an additional device for a self-propelled combine harvester, comprising an insertion device and a harvesting gap for separating the ears from the plants, the harvesting device comprising, for each row of plants, an insertion chain and a harvesting cylinder, with which a partial casing is associated and which is essentially constituted by an element of cylindrical base on the casing of which there are arranged, at regular intervals, drive plates and in which a dividing point in the shape of a conical frustrum equipped with an archimedes screw made from sheet metal is firmly connected to the front part, viewed in the direction of forward travel, of the base element.
