Abstract

Foldable mechanical utensil to assist the housewife in transporting articles purchased in superstores and supermarkets as well as in the market easily. It consists of two vertical upper uprights 2 retracting at several levels into lower uprights 1' by means of a lower ratchet system 2, and are surmounted by a cap 3 for linking the two upper uprights 1 together. The cap 3 is provided with a location 4 possibly for placing a removable calculator therein. The two lower uprights 1' rest on two interchangeable non-pivoting casters 5 having a chassis 6 going forwards held in the end limit positions by a rounded turned-over part 7 which can be folded down by means of a system of circular-arc shaped slides 8 receiving a lateral stud 9 of the chassis 6 welded on the internal lateral side to the base of the lower uprights 1'. The chassis 6 comprises a rim 10 and rests on two pivoting casters 11 and folds over between the lower uprights 1' with the aid of a pedal 12 provided extending out from the back. A movable foldable basket 13 comprising a fold-down bottom 14 and articulated sides 23 is placed on the wall of the two upper and lower uprights 1 and 1' with the aid of hooks 15 engaging in the orifices 16 provided for this purpose. Articulation rods 17 allow the basket 13 to be held in the open position. Between the lower uprights 1' there is a removable bottle rack 18. Handles 19 surmount the upper uprights 1. A stabilising tab 20 is provided at the bottom of the lower uprights 1'.
