Abstract

Device enabling flexible materials to be folded in three or in four, even if they are not perfectly plane. It comprises a plane surface 1 on which a bar 2 moves, which bar is provided with grippers which brings the material 15 to be folded to the location where it is to be worked by passing it under a rod 3 intended for unfolding it. A double ramp 4 lifts the rod 3 at the moment when the bar 2 is to pass. Above this surface 1, which is separated by a slot 6, there is a rigid plate 7 which causes the material to be folded to penetrate vertically between two metal sheets 8 and 9. A rigid plate 10 causes the material already folded once to penetrate horizontally, firstly between two metal sheets 11 and 12 and then between two rollers 13 and 14 for emphasising the folds. The invention can be used for the folding of floor cloths, towels, dishcloths (dusters) and any other article having sufficient flexibility for passing into the components of the device.

La présente invention se rapporte à un dispositif permettant de plier des matières souples. The present invention relates to a device for folding flexible materials.
