The said motor 2 is of the hydraulic type and is provided with a rotor 6 having at its periphery a plurality of cups 9 for receiving the feed fluid of the motor, this motor being similar to a "Pelton" type turbine. One application is the production of rotary brushes for scouring the hulls of ships.

Description

Stripping tool with hydraulic motor
Stripping tools are already known, such as rotary metal brushes, the tool of which itself is rotated by a hydraulic motor.

The motors adopted to date are supplied with low pressure fluid, the size of which makes the stripping tool difficult to handle. In addition, the supply conduits are themselves bulky.

The subject of the invention is such a pickling tool, but provided with a hydraulic type motor, the rotor of which is provided at its periphery with a plurality of cups for receiving the supply fluid from the engine, this engine being similar. to a "Pelton" type turbine.

Preferably, the following advantageous arrangements are adopted
- each rotor bucket is axially closed on the two axial faces of the rotor
- each bucket is separated from the next bucket by a wall, the upper edge of which has a small recess in its middle zone
- each bucket has a spherical bottom.

The advantages of these new provisions lie in an improvement in the maneuverability of the pickling tools, and therefore also in an increase in their performance. The rustic design of the engines, which does not preclude obtaining a good performance, is also a guarantee of reliability over time.

The invention will be better understood, and secondary characteristics and their advantages will become apparent during the description of an embodiment given below by way of example.

It is understood that the description and the drawings are given for information only and are not limiting.

- la figure 1 est une coupe suivant I-I de la figure 2 d'un outil conforme à l'invention ;
Reference will be made to the accompanying drawings in which
- Figure 1 is a section along II of Figure 2 of a tool according to the invention;
- Figure 2 is a section along II-II of Figure 1; and,
- Figure 3 is an enlarged view of detail A in Figure 2.

The stripping tool shown in the drawings consists of a body 1 on which are mounted, on the one hand, a hydraulic motor 2, on the other hand, metal brushes 3 (two in number, only one visible on Figure 2). Each brush 3 is rotatably mounted in a bearing 4 of the body 1, while the drive head 5 of the rotor 6 of the motor 2 is engaged with a corresponding head 7 of each brush 3.

The rotor 6 of the motor 2 is rotatably mounted in the body 1 by means of two bearings 8. This rotor is constituted by a plurality of buckets 9 regularly arranged at its radial periphery, adjacent one to the next and separated by a wall 10 substantially parallel to the axis 17 of rotation, the central region of which has a small recess 11. Each bucket 9 is hollowed out in the same block of the rotor 6 by a cutter of substantially spherical shape so that the internal surface 12 of the bottom of this the cup is itself substantially spherical. Furthermore, a non-zero thickness of my material remains laterally at the level of two axial faces 13 of the periphery of the rotor, constituting two walls 14. Thus, the rotor 6 resembles that of a typical turbine - "Pelton", with however the difference is that each small bucket is blind, opening only through a single opening, and that, therefore, pressurized batten, which initially enters a bucket, escapes in a radial plane, and not laterally (axially ) as in a classic "Pelton" turbine.

The body 1 constitutes for the roto-r 6 a closed casing, into which the pressurized water (100 to 200 bars) is injected into the various cups, successively, by means of an injector 15. An exhaust duct 16 water outside the casing is disposed downstream of this injector.

The essential advantage of the tool described, and more generally similar stripping tools, is linked to the injection of a high pressure fluid, which makes it possible to obtain greater compactness and a smaller weight, where better mobility compared to previously known tools.

In addition, the very shape of the buckets, and in particular the presence of the walls 14, results in an axial size which is also less than that of both conventional "Pelton" type turbines and previous low pressure engines.

The invention is not limited to the embodiment described, but on the contrary covers all the variants which could be made to it without departing from its scope or its spirit.
