Abstract

The outrigger (1) is used for trench digging and has a work tool mounted at the end of an arm (6). The tool support (8) at the arm end opposite the machine is motor driven, has wheels or tracks (11), and its hydraulic motor is driven by a central hydraulic control (19,20). This is carried by the vehicle via pipes passing along the arm. The arm is fixed to a vehicle mounted turret (5), which can turn about a vertical axis while the arm is mounted to pivot about a horizontal axis.
