Abstract

The vehicle body end section comprises a transverse panel and a bumper in one piece. The panel is a structural section providing cross-bracing, with a weakened breakage portion (11) formed between the panel (2) and the bumper (3) for part of the length of the component at least. This portion can be close to and below a stiffening rib, and it can extend for a distance less than that between the bumper mounting points.
