Abstract

A mould for making injection mouldings which are partly covered with a sheet of protective or decorative material has a split upper tool so that the cover sheet can pass through an ancillary parting face above the level of the parting line between the base of the moulding and the lower mould tool. The decorative cover is made of material of limite extensibility, as woven or non-woven fabric or a solid sheet or film material, so that the cover will adapt to the form of the moulding without dragging or skidding. For making fittings for car interiors, etc. where the lower parts of the moulding are supported out of sight and do not require the ancillary decoration.
