Abstract

Water heated by a solar panel is pumped to a hot water tank. An electronic circuit controls the pump from temperature sensors to ensure that it does not operate when the solar heat is lower than that of the tank. Temperature sensitive elements (5, 6) are located at the solar panel water outlet and at the outlet on the water tank. These elements are connected to a transistor base circuit (42) to obtain a difference value. An LED (45) in its collector circuit forms an opto-electronic coupling (14) to a resistor (R) in a second transistor stage (25). This stage drives a unijunction (20) to initiate a thyristor (21). This causes the pump (2) to pump water from the tank to the solar panel.
