Abstract

Mixer, partic. for mixing a composite mastic, comprises a frame, a support for the receptacle for the material being mixed, an agitator mounted so as to rotate about a first vertical axis, a drive for the agitator and a device for retaining the material being mixed in the receptacle, during mixing. Support for the receptacle is itself mounted so as to rotate in relation to the frame about a second vertical axis, separate from the first, while the agitator is contained within a circular cylindrical surface dia. of which is coincident with radius of the receiver. Invention remedies inconveniences of existing mixers of its type, in which a paddle shaped as a helix is actuated in a double movement, rotatin in the pot of mastic being prepared, and axial sliding, to mix the whole of the mastic. This axial sliding is realised manually by an operator who raises and lowers the support of the paddle by handles fixed to the support. In addn. a special cover has to be provided to allow the axial sliding, and the paddle is costly, fragile and not easily cleaned.
