Abstract

Pour obtenir un nouvel inhibiteur de la beta -lactamase appelé EM 4615, on cultive une espèce de Micromonospora (en particulier une nouvelle souche constituée de Micromonospora chalcea ATCC n degrés 31395) dans des conditions de fermentation aérobies et on isole l'inhibiteur du milieu de fermentation par extraction; l'inhibiteur de la beta -lactamase et ses sels, en particulier le sel de sodium et le sel de baryum, présentent des propriétés physiques caractéristiques (voir spectre infrarouge du sel de sodium). L'invention s'applique en particulier à un inhibiteur de la beta -lactamase utile pour accroître l'efficacité des antibiotiques de type beta -lactame tels que les pénicillines et les céphalosporines.
