Abstract

The automatic grinding machine has a head which can be displaced in two perpendicular directions in a horizontal plane. A primary slide (16), capable of displacement, in one direction supports the grinder and the motor, being mounted on a table (3) which slides in a second direction. A plane thin disc grinder may be utilised, primary slide movement effecting advance towards the workpiece, and table movement effecting lateral grinder displacements. The support (34) provides for workpiece rotation and the indexing of different positions relative to the grinder.
