Abstract

The heater has a finned tube heat exchanger (2) above a combustion chamber (4). There is a flue outlet (3) above the heat exchanger and a burner (6) below the combustion chamber. There is a pilot (8) at the side of the burner with a flame control thermostat (7), the pilot being accessible through an opening (10) in the casing of the heater. A draught deflecting plate (11) is fixed inside the opening (10). It is slightly bent so that its lower part fixes to the casing and its upper part inclines inwards to shield the pilot flame from draughts pulled through the opening by the action of the flue.
