878,938. Flue baffles. TRIANCO Ltd. Jan. 21, 1958 [Jan. 21, 1957], No. 2199/57. Class 51 (1). [Also in Group XIII] In a boiler (see Group XIII) having a separable combustion chamber 1, flue tube unit 14 and flue chamber unit 32 each with a waterheating space, the flue tubes 18 each contain a core 30 tapered downwardly and bearing baffies 31 producing a spiral flow. The bottom portion of the combustion chamber 1 is lined with refractory slats 12, those at the two sides being tapered upwardly and those at the front flanking a refractory-lined panel with an aperture for a nozzle of a burner 44 which is controlled by the water temperature. Further slabs 12a may be moulded on top of the slabs 12. The boiler is covered with insulating slabs and metal panels 43. The boiler may be heated by gas or by pulverized solid fuel burnt in a precombustion chamber.
