Abstract

The demountable timber furniture unit incorporates transverse frames connected by two or more horizontal shelves at adjustable vertical intervals. The frames may comprise two posts and two or more rails connected by mortice and tenon joints, the posts have through holes at regular vertical intervals. The shelves have angle irons fixed beneath two opposite edges, and presenting a downturned vertical flange. The shelf to post connection may utilise bolts engaging a flange slot, the shelves having square corner cut-outs accommodating the posts.
