Abstract

The shelving unit has a horizontal intermediate section (1) with tenons (3) fitting into a corresponding, elongated hole (6) in the uprights (2). Each hole (6) is as wide as, or wider than, the tenon (3). At least one of the sides of each tenon (3) has a U-shaped, crosswise groove (5). A wedge (7) is inserted between the tenon (3) and one edge of the hole (6) so that the tenon (3) is wedged in the hole (6) with the tenon's groove wedged on the other side of the hole or part of the wedge (7) is wedged in the groove (5).
