Abstract

The coupling between the sail control boom (2) and the mast (1) of the windsurfer comprises a simple catch (5) on the side of the boom which locks into a slotted platte (6) fitted to the side of the mast. The catch is inserted at right angles to the normal setting and turned through a right angle to lock in place. The coupling allows relative movement of the boom and has no sharp edges which could cause injury in case of a capsize.
