Abstract

1,165,515. Door -frames. Z. LEIVENZON and S. LEIVENZON. 31 May, 1968 [31 May, 1967; 13 June, 1967], No. 26290/68. Heading E1J. A door frame with simulated mitre joints and of the type in which the jambs sections and head section e.g. of steel has two spaced side members 24, 25 and 27, 28 respectively and a front face portion having a door stop 17, 18 respectively, has one end of one of the pair of interconnected ends of the jamb and head section provided with an inwardly offset portion 10 which provides angularly extending shoulders 34 on the side members 24, 25, the other end of the pair of interconnected ends having the side members 27, 28 provided with angularly abutting edges 16 complementary to the pair of shoulders 34 so as to interengage with these latter and means such as lugs 9, 10 and slots 9a, 10a, being provided to lock the two sections in the interengaged position. At the interengaging edges of the front faces either of the sections 17, or 18 is cut out to receive the other section 18 or 17, preferably on each jamb and the head section extends over and engages the upper edges of the jamb to provide a load supporting head. The offset portion 10 may be integral or consist of a plate member to the internal surface of the side portion 24. The jambs may be secured to the wall e.g. 39 Fig. 6 by wire clips 38 embedded at spaced intervals in the wall and the jambs 11 pushed towards the wall until the flanges 29, 31 move over the ends 41 and engage therebehind.
