Abstract

A generator for producing steam for laundering irons in the textile industry, etc., has a vaporising chamber heated electrically, which can be connected to the work station and, through the intermediary of a valve, to a water storage tank. The valve ensures the control of the flow of water into the vaporising chamber according to the requirements, and is operated electromagnetically. An interruptor is fitted so that the outlet is opened and closed times per minute. The valve is lifted from and returned to its seat by the core of the magnet to which is attached. The core has a bore receiving a compression spring, and has projecting through the valve a plunger with a pointed tip, which, each time the valve is closed, penetrates the outlet nozzle and removes any scale deposited from the water.
