Abstract

The packing machine supplies two sheets of packing material. The packing material is airtight and is arranged with the two sheets opposite each other. The sheets are joined along one edge in order to form an envelope, which is opened along one side. The feed mechanism supplies the material to be packed in between the two sheets and seals off the open end of the envelope to form the package. The packing is effected under vacuum and the articles are compressed during the packing process.
