Abstract

The self-propelled vehicle nocturnal guidance system has a day light sighting lens and an infra-red dial sight adjusting an infra-red source mounted on the device. A thermal nocturnal vision lens has an infra-red detector and a vision device. Thermal cross-wires and a system for direct provision of a visible image of them, together with a system to cause the image of the day light lens cross-wires to coincide with that of the thermal cross wire are also provided. The thermal cross-wires comprise a small lamp with a diffusion lens incorporated, and a small-diameter diaphragm. There can be a lens (65) allowing observation of the vision device via the viewfinder (31) of the day light lens. This also provides a direct image of the thermal cross-wires, while a partly-reflecting prism (60) transmits this image and also that from the vision device.
