Abstract

Thermal insulation panels (1, 2) for refrigerator vehicles are made from expanded plastics reinforced with outer layers (3,4, 5, 6) of reinforced rigid plastics. To make a right angled joint between two such panels, a rebate (7) is cut in the edge of one panel (2). The width of the rebate (7) is equal to the thickness of the mating panel (1). The panels are then joined by angle sections (10, 11) of reinforced rigid plastics, the section (10) on the inside and the section (11) on the outside of the joint. The angles are attached with a suitable adhesive and the joint line is covered with a plastics strip (16) which conceals any excess adhesive exuding from the joint.
