Abstract
The friction screw spindle press has a stand with a spindle nut and an upper bearing for a spindle. The vertical spindle is guided by the nut and the bearing and the spindle has a horizontal friction disc. Two vertical inertia flywheels are used for the friction disc drives and are used for spindle lifting and lowering. Each of the flywheels arranged diametrically opposite across the friction disc has its own independent drive and coupling arrangements. In addition each of the flywheels is held on its own shaft and bearing system. Each of the flywheel shafts can be axially moved within certain limits. The flywheels are brought into contact with the friction disc rim by a hydraulic actuator. The drive system can hence be designed to suit the lifting and working stroke separately.
