Abstract

A dental hand tool mount has a drive shaft situated within the hand-piece housing. A radially movable ball device acts against a tensioning collar or sheath and has an external control sheath. The ball device is mounted in a hole in the wall of the hand-piece housing. The ball is lifted by action of a return spring from the drive shaft and into contact with the pressure piece. The inner wall of the activator sheath contacts the ball, the angled surface of which presses the ball against the return spring allowing the sheath to move.
