Abstract

The framework is intended to be placed into an opening in a wall and comprises at least three memebers, one horizontal top member and two vertical side members, joined together watertightly, these being made from metal such as 1.2 to 1.5 mm thick steel. Each member is made from the two pieces, the internal piece (3) having an angle edge (4) forming the rabbet of the framework and the external piece (2) having a shouldered edge which lodges underneath the angle edge. The gap between the pieces is sealed with a thermally insulating material such as PVG or a hard rubber foam. The outer edges of the pieces have side walls projecting at right angles, these being connected by a face (8) inclined at an angle between 95 deg. and 100 deg.
