Abstract

The engine and gear box (37, 35) are mounted low down on the driver's side of the vehicle. The two rear wheels (10, 11) have adjustable pneumatic suspension cylinders (18, 19) and are mounted on suspension arms (12, 13) pivoted through chassis mounted bearings (14, 15, 16, 17). A differential (34), driven by a universally jointed propellor shaft (36) from the gear box, is mounted on the same side of the vehicle as the engine and is connected to the rear wheel on that side by another universally jointed propellor shaft (31). The rear wheel on the opposite side of the vehicle is driven from the differential through two, 90 degree, angle converting gears (22, 26), connected across the vehicle by a propellor shaft (24), and then finally through a second propellor shaft (20) as for the wheel at the other side.
