Abstract

The gas bottle (5) its into a holder (6) attached to the extinguisher head (1). Above the bottle is a pin (15) on a plunger (14) fitting into a blind hold in an outer cap (16) which can slide in a bore (3) in the extinguisher head and is operated by the handle (18). On top of a shoulder on the plunger is a valve disc (21) urged against a seat (4) in the lower part of the bore by a spring (24). Striking the handle pushes down cap and plunger, and the spring moves the plunger so the pin (15) pierces the bottle. The valve disc is used to open or closed the outlet from the head.
