Abstract

The shock absorber consists of a block of moulded material. The block has plain vertical sides (5, 4) and is made from internal ribs (3) which form hexagonal holes within the block. Half hexagons (6) are included to maintain equal spacing of the hexagons. The shock absorber is covered with top and bottom plain plates, to carry and distribute the load evenly. Several blocks may be mounted side by side to handle heavy loads. Similarly several blocks may be placed on top of each other according to the amount of damping required.
