Abstract
The conversion is carred out in accordance with a nonlinear transfer function. This function forms a curve which can be approximated by a series of linear sections, (a, b, c....) There is a first converter circuit which can generate a first number defining one of the linear sections on the curve. A second converter circuit generates a second number which defines a level in the section. The two numbers from the series data word. The values of output values corresponding to input values produced by the curve may fall within given tolerances.
