Abstract

The drive wheel rotates on the central axle (10). The wheel rim is shaped into a number of equally spaced grooves (8) on the central web and similar grooves on the flanges (15). The hydraulic jacks (5) (5') pivot around the fulcrum (6) (6'). The jack is fitted with a semi-circular end (7') which rides on the central web of the wheel and a pair of rollers (14) which roll on the flanges. The jacks are operated out of phase by the hydraulic circuit so that one jack operates after another. This gives a constant drive to the wheel. The jacks are kept in position by the springs (17).
