Abstract

The reinforced concrete framework is built from prefabricated concrete columns and beams. The columns (1) are hollow throughout their length and the ends (24) of the beams (3) are hollow. The structure is initially erected using metal gusset plates and bolted connections at the joints. Horizontal tie bars (20) give horizontal alignment and stability. Concrete is then poured through the hollow columns until the columns and the hollow parts of the beams are completely filled. When the concrete has set, the temporary metal supports are removed for reuse.
