Abstract

The sealing ring for hydraulic or pneumatic equipment consists of a ring of T cross-section (28) and a second ring (30) of circular cross-section. The T-section ring which is in contact with the sliding surface is made from rubber with a Shore hardness greater than 80. It has a low coefficient of friction and resists wear. The supporting ring (30) is made from rubber with a Shore hardness less than 70. It is thus able to adjust to any irregularities of the sealing surface and ensure that the T-section is always under radial pressure. The use of two rings provides an effective seal with a low coefficient of friction.
