Abstract
A pump circulates a primary fluid from a radiation collector to a heat exchanger immersed in a hot water calorifier vessel. This is has a cold feed connection and an outflow to a second similar vessel placed below it. The second vessel contains an auxiliary electric heating element and a thermostat. The final hot water draw off is taken from this vessel. A thermostat in the radiation collector and a thermostat in the first vessel are connected through a comparator to the circulating pump so that they start the pump when the temperature in the collector is above that in the vessel.
