Abstract

The ends of each rung are immobilised longitudinally in relation to the corresponding upright by means of pull exerted on each end of the rungs. Each rung is hollow with ferrule-shaped ends (1a), the dimensions of the ends being smaller than those of the central section (1b,) the two being linked together by a conical transition piece (1c). The uprights (2) have an oblong-section with two flat walls (2a,2b) linked by two curved walls (2c,2d), one flat wall of each containing openings, the diameter of which is between that of the rung end (1a) and the central section (1b). The end of the rung is inserted into the opening up to the conical transition piece. A screw is then inserted through a hole in the other wall of the upright and tightened until the upright is slightly compressed.
