Abstract

The equipment maintains at constant level the surface of a cryogenic liquid in an isothermal vessel open at the top and equipped with a level detector. Additional cryogenic liquid is held in an auxiliary reservoir (7) whose bottom communicates with that of the vessel (1), while its top communicates with the atmosphere via a solenoid valve (10) opening automatically when the level of the liquid surface reaches the detector (11). The reservoir can be inside the vessel, which can be double-skinned, and it can be formed by a horizontal partition (8) equipped with a plunger tube (8) whose lower end is always immersed in the liquid portion of the reservoir contents.
