Abstract

The underground cable laying machine, for e.g. telephone cables, has a vibrating plough blade cutting a trench into which the cable is fed. The plough is pulled by a tractor and the cables are uncoiled from drums towed behind the plough assembly. The plough and its vibrator are articulated (10) to the rear of the tractor. This articulated joint can be rotated by a hydraulic piston (11) above it so that the plough can be tilted to plough deeper or shallower as required by the terrain.
