Abstract

Each hoist unit contains two pairs of hydraulic lift units (6, 7) whose piston is fixed to a support frame (8) which with the help of linkages (11) are attached to the end mounting on the crane outrigger. The two movable cylinders (13, 14) of the units are coupled to tension blocks (e.g. 13) which hold the cable whereby the hoists and the blocks are supplied through fixed hydraulic lines coupled rigidly to the chassis and are connected to the control console in the crane cabin through flexible lines. Each hoist unit incorporates a pair of parallel tracks which are controlled by hydraulic actuators and which hold the cable. The complete system facilitates positioning of loads into storage areas particularly loads weighing more than 300 tons.
