Abstract

The modular base, for electrical components, consists of a rectangular open-topped housing with keying slots in the outside surfaces of its lateral walls to enable several identical bases to be locked together to form a composite multipolar unit. The keyways are dovetailed to accept 'double-headed' dovetail keys that drop down into them. The dovetails' are sloped so that the bases cannot be pulled apart laterally. The top cover for the composite unit has posts that locate into holes inside the separate base.
