Abstract

The protective support assembly, for sets of parallel U-shaped current rails used in power distribution equipment, has the current rails (1) seated inside grooves (4) formed in an insulating, ridged support plate. The open ends of the U face the closed ends of the groove. The support plate has side pieces extending down beyond the rails and having small angled slots (7) to accept locking bars (5) which pass across the rails on the opposite side to the plate and hold them in place. Electrical contact to the rails through the plate is made via rectangular chimneys (8) protruding at right angles up from the plane of the plate and the set of rails.
