Abstract

A telescopic hydraulic shock absorber is used in which regulation of the resisting effort can be made from the outside. There are two adjustments, which can be separate or combined. One acts on spring pressure and the other on the size of the outlet orifice connecting two chambers in the shock absorber. An exterior screw (21) acts on the tension of a distributor spring. The distributor consists of two hollow, concentric tubes sliding relative to each other. The external tube has exhaust holes and is acted on by a closing spring which is flexible. The relatively large relative movement of the tubes, in conjunction with the spring allows sufficient exhaust area to handle sudden blows.
