[Also in Division F2] An anti-water-hammer device comprises a rigid chamber 1, 2 completely occupied by a rubber cushion 5 having air-filled cells 6, the arrangement being such that when an excess pressure exists in an hydraulic circuit connected to the chamber by a pipe 4, the rubber cushion deforms and the air is compressed in the cells to temporarily admit liquid into the chamber. The cells 6 may inter-communicate.
