Abstract

The vessel has an agitator (1) for the shredding and dispersal of e.g. salad into oil-vinegar mixes and constitutes a pedestal (9) with a hemisphere (3) receiving and interlocking with a hemispherical lid (4) via a rotational movement. The lid has bearings (16, 17) for a horizontally diametric axle (5) which bears semi-circular wire shredders (6, 7) and an external crank handle (8). The utensil permits the prepn. of such mixtures without spray emission, and obviates tendency in prior art of salad portions to wedge between the vessel wall and shredding blades. The shredding wires (6, 7) are of varying stiffness, locate on opposed axle sides, are in a common plane, and are formed of different radii. Engagement of hemispherical vessel halves is via a sliding arrangement of tongues (11) and grooves (12).
