Abstract

An electric immersion heater water boiler has a main heating element designed to heat up a given proportion of the contents of the water vessel, e.g. between a third and a fifth of the contents, rapidly to a temperature of 60 deg. C, and has another heating element of a lower value to heat the whole of the contents to a temperature of 75 deg. C, followed by a third heating element to maintain the temperature at this value, compensating for heat loses. Each heating element has a thermostat, which when its task has been performed, allows the next element to be switched in, the third element being switched off when the water reaches its maximum temperature. The rapid heating element (R1) is at the top and the other elements in the base.
